Picture a family spending Ramadan between Makkah and Madinah: a ride to the Haram most days, a ziyarat tour or two, the transfer between the cities, a clinic appointment, shopping before Eid. Booking every trip separately works, but it means messages, waiting and a different car each time. That is where a car and driver by the month comes in: one vehicle and one driver who knows your schedule, your address and how many of you there are.
This article helps you decide whether it really suits you, and what to agree before you start.
When does a monthly arrangement make sense?
- Long stays: weeks in Makkah, Madinah or Jeddah with near-daily travel.
- Large families or older relatives: who need a roomy car always on hand and prefer a familiar face.
- Unpredictable schedules: work commitments or appointments you cannot fix in advance.
- Frequent intercity travel: Makkah, Madinah and Jeddah within the same trip.
If your trip is a single week with three or four main rides, fixed per-trip fares are usually simpler and cheaper.
Do the maths: fixed per-trip fares
The best way to judge any monthly offer is to compare it with booking each ride separately. These are Mishwar Al Haramain's per-car fares for the rides people repeat most:
| Ride | Sedan | Family | VIP |
|---|---|---|---|
| Within Makkah to the Haram | 80 SAR | 150 SAR | 300 SAR |
| Within Madinah to hotels | 80 SAR | 150 SAR | 300 SAR |
| Between Jeddah districts | 100 SAR | 200 SAR | 300 SAR |
| Makkah ziyarat tour | 150 SAR | 500 SAR | 1000 SAR |
| Madinah ziyarat + Wadi Al Jinn | 200 SAR | 350 SAR | 500 SAR |
| Makkah to Madinah | 400 SAR | 600 SAR | 1000 SAR |
| Jeddah Airport to Makkah | 200 SAR | 350 SAR | 500 SAR |
List the rides you expect during the month, add them up from the table, and compare the total with the monthly offer. The full list is in our taxi fare guide.
We do not publish a monthly price here, because it depends on the city, the vehicle, daily hours and intercity trips. Send us your details on WhatsApp and we will confirm an offer.
What to agree before you start
A clear agreement prevents misunderstandings later. Get these points in writing:
- Base city: where the driver's day starts and ends.
- Daily hours: how many, and whether they run straight or are split around prayer times.
- Days off: if any, and who covers them.
- Intercity trips: included, or charged separately.
- Fuel and road costs: whether they are covered.
- Vehicle and passenger count: sedan, family or VIP; see the classes on our fleet page.
- Payment method and timing.
Tips from experience
- In Makkah, agree a fixed drop-off and pickup point near the Haram, since nearby roads close at busy prayer times.
- Share the coming week's plan with the driver each Friday evening; it helps him plan around traffic.
- If you have child seats or a wheelchair, mention them when you enquire so we choose the right vehicle.
- Keep our WhatsApp number alongside the driver's number for any changes.
Frequently asked questions
Can the arrangement start at the airport?
Yes. Send your flight number and the driver will meet you in arrivals with a name sign, with 60 minutes of free waiting after landing. See our Jeddah Airport taxi page.
Can I book for less than a month?
Shorter periods can be arranged depending on availability. For very short stays, per-trip booking may work out cheaper, and we are happy to help you compare.
Is the car just for us?
Yes. The car and driver follow your schedule for the whole agreement, with no other passengers.
What if I need a bigger car for one day?
Tell us in advance and we will arrange an extra vehicle for that ride at its fixed fare.
