VIP Airport Arrivals in Saudi: What the Airport Does, What You Book

"VIP airport service" means different things to different people. For some it is an escort who meets them at the aircraft and speeds them through formalities; for others it is a quiet lounge; for many it simply means a premium car and a driver waiting with their name. In reality, a premium arrival has three separate layers, provided by different parties. Understanding the split helps you book what you actually need — and avoid paying for what you do not.

Layer one: inside the terminal

Major airports such as King Abdulaziz International in Jeddah and Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz in Madinah usually offer paid in-terminal services, such as:

  • Meet and assist: a staff member who accompanies you from the arrival gate through formalities and baggage reclaim.
  • Private lounges: mostly for departures, sometimes for arrivals, depending on the airport, your airline, or your card and membership.
  • Porters and wheelchair assistance: wheelchair help is normally requested from your airline when booking your flight.

These are booked through the airport, the airline or approved providers inside the terminal, and their terms and prices vary, so check official channels before you travel. We do not provide in-terminal services, but we coordinate our timing with them.

Layer two: the moment you walk out

This is where we come in. The most tiring part after formalities is stepping into a crowded arrivals hall without knowing where to go. With Mishwar Al Haramain:

  • Your driver waits in the arrivals hall holding a sign with your name.
  • We track your flight, so a delay simply moves the pickup, at no extra cost.
  • You get 60 minutes of free waiting after landing — if you are using an in-terminal escort, tell us so we can factor it in.
  • The driver helps move your luggage to the car.

Layer three: the road

A premium arrival does not end at the kerb. Our VIP class is for travellers who want a higher-end car and a calmer, more comfortable ride — for important guests, elderly parents, or a long intercity journey. Fares are fixed per car and paid on arrival:

From the airport toVIP class (from)
Jeddah Airport → within Jeddah / Jeddah hotels500 SAR
Jeddah Airport → Makkah500 SAR
Jeddah Airport → Taif800 SAR
Jeddah Airport → Madinah1,000 SAR
Madinah Airport → Madinah hotel300 SAR

If luxury is not the priority, sedan and family classes are available for less. Compare them on the fleet page and in the taxi fares guide.

When is it worth it?

  • Elderly travellers: an in-terminal escort plus a comfortable car waiting outside saves a great deal of effort.
  • Business travellers: when the gap between landing and a meeting is tight.
  • Peak-season arrivals: Ramadan and holidays bring heavy crowds to Jeddah's arrivals halls.
  • Hosting guests: when you want someone welcomed properly without going to the airport yourself.

A note for Umrah arrivals

If you are flying in for Umrah, you will normally have entered ihram on the plane before passing the miqat, and many pilgrims want to head straight to the Haram. A VIP-class car gives you a quiet, cool space to rest for the hour or so to Makkah. Tell us if you want to go to your hotel first or be dropped as close to the Haram as traffic allows, and keep your Nusuk permit ready on your phone.

On departure, too

A premium experience has a flip side on travel day. We take you from your hotel in Makkah or Madinah to the airport at a time that suits your flight, with a sensible margin for check-in. If you have booked a departure lounge or escort, tell us the terminal so we drop you at the right entrance. Work back from your departure time and add extra in peak seasons.

Common misconceptions

  • "VIP means skipping all formalities." Official procedures still apply; premium services make them easier and quicker at best.
  • "A luxury car gets there faster." The driver follows the same traffic rules as everyone else. The difference is comfort, not speed.
  • "Premium bookings require prepayment." Not with us — standard bookings are paid on arrival.

Putting the layers together

  1. Book in-terminal assistance (if you want it) through the airport or your airline.
  2. Send us on WhatsApp your flight number, destination, number of passengers and bags, the name for the sign, and whether an in-terminal escort is involved.
  3. Driver details reach you before pickup, and the driver is waiting when you walk out.
