When a traveller asks us "Should I book VIP?", we answer with a question: what do you want from that hour after landing? The basic welcome is the same in every class; the real difference is the car itself and the level of comfort. This article puts the three classes side by side so you can choose on substance, not impression.
What you get in every class
Whether you book sedan, family or VIP, the essentials are identical:
- A driver waiting in arrivals with a sign bearing your name.
- Your flight number tracked and the pickup moved if you land early or late.
- 60 minutes of free waiting after landing for passport control and bags.
- A fixed fare per car, not per passenger, paid on arrival with no prepayment.
- Round-the-clock service, coordinated on WhatsApp.
So if your main concern is having someone waiting and a clear price, a sedan does the job.
When a sedan is enough
For a solo traveller or two or three people with moderate luggage. It is the economical choice and perfectly suited to the airport-to-hotel run in Jeddah or the drive to Makkah.
When you need the family class
When there are more of you or lots of luggage: a family with children, or a group of pilgrims with large suitcases. Everyone in one vehicle is easier than splitting the group across two cars.
When VIP is worth the extra
- After a very long journey: when you land after hours of travel and want maximum comfort on the road.
- For elderly or unwell travellers: extra comfort makes a real difference on a long drive such as the road to Madinah.
- For executives and important guests: when first impressions matter, such as collecting a guest or business partner.
- For special occasions: such as welcoming parents arriving for their first Umrah.
If you have specific requirements for the vehicle, mention them on WhatsApp before booking and we will confirm what is available.
The numbers: from Jeddah Airport to
| Destination | Sedan | Family | VIP |
|---|---|---|---|
| Within Jeddah / Jeddah hotels | 150 SAR | 250 SAR | 500 SAR |
| Makkah | 200 SAR | 350 SAR | 500 SAR |
| Madinah | 500 SAR | 700 SAR | 1000 SAR |
| Taif | 300 SAR | 500 SAR | 800 SAR |
| Taif (round trip) | 600 SAR | 800 SAR | 1000 SAR |
Notice that the gap between family and VIP to Makkah is relatively small, while within Jeddah it is larger. Other routes are in the taxi fare guide, and each class is described on the fleet page.
How long are the drives?
- To Makkah: about 100 km, usually 60 to 75 minutes. If you are heading straight to Masjid al-Haram, see our Jeddah Airport to Haram page.
- To Madinah: about 420 km, more than four hours.
- Within Jeddah: varies a lot by district and rush hour.
What to send when booking
- Flight number and arrival date.
- Number of travellers and large bags.
- Destination and hotel name.
- Preferred class and any special needs (a wheelchair, for example).
We send you confirmation of the car and the fare, then the driver's contact details before you land. More on pickups at Jeddah airport taxi.
