Jeddah to Makkah: from any address to your hotel door
Plenty of visitors need a taxi from Jeddah to Makkah without being at the airport: Jeddah residents going for Umrah, pilgrims who spent a few days at Corniche hotels, travellers arriving at Jeddah's Haramain train station, or families coming in through Jeddah Islamic Port. So our Jeddah to Makkah transfer starts wherever you are, not at a fixed point.
Tell us the pickup place and time. Your driver arrives a few minutes early, loads the bags and heads straight to your hotel in Makkah.
Where we pick you up in Jeddah
- Hotels and serviced apartments on the Corniche and in Al Hamra, Al Rawdah and Al Zahra.
- Homes in any district, north or south.
- Al Balad, after a walk through historic Jeddah.
- The Haramain train stations in Jeddah: Al Sulaimaniyah and the airport station.
- Jeddah Islamic Port for sea arrivals.
- King Abdulaziz Airport, covered on its own page: Jeddah Airport to Makkah transfers.
Distance and drive time
Makkah is about 80 km from central Jeddah, usually around an hour on the expressway; from north Jeddah (Obhur, for example) it is a little further. Your actual arrival time depends on the hotel: hotels right by the Haram can take longer at busy times because some streets close, while Al Aziziyah and Al Shawqiyah are usually quicker.
| From | Approx. distance | Usual time |
|---|---|---|
| Central Jeddah / Corniche | 80 km | About 1 hour |
| North Jeddah / Obhur | 95 km | About 1h15 |
| King Abdulaziz Airport | 100 km | 60–75 min |

Same-day return
Living in Jeddah and want to perform Umrah and come back the same day? Book a return trip: the driver waits or comes back for you at the time you choose after your Umrah. Give us a rough return time when booking and we agree the details and fare in advance.
Tips before you set off
- If you are performing Umrah, people already in Jeddah enter ihram from where they are before leaving.
- If your hotel is next to the Haram, avoid leaving just before Friday prayer or Maghrib in Ramadan; the surrounding roads get very busy.
- Share your map location on WhatsApp if you are in a residential area, so the driver finds you without repeated calls.
