Done with AlUla, heading for Tabuk
After a few days among Hegra, the Old Town and the sandstone valleys, many visitors turn north to Tabuk, either to keep exploring the north-west of the Kingdom or to catch a flight from Tabuk airport. The road between the two is a long desert drive of several hours, with stretches where towns and services are thin on the ground. That is why plenty of travellers prefer a private car with a driver who knows where and when to stop.

How the journey goes
The driver heads north out of AlUla through open desert and rock formations whose colours shift as you get closer to Tabuk. Ask to stop for prayer, a rest or photos at safe spots whenever you like; the pace is yours. In Tabuk the driver takes you straight to your hotel, a relative’s home or the airport departures hall.
