Yanbu lies north of Jeddah on the Red Sea, linked by a fast coastal highway that passes Rabigh, with a little over 300 km between them. People make the trip for many reasons: staff from Yanbu’s industrial area heading for Jeddah airport, families visiting relatives, and travellers continuing to Makkah for Umrah.

If Makkah is your final destination, tell us at the start, as booking the whole journey may suit you better. For Umrah, travellers coming from the Yanbu side have Al Juhfah as their miqat, and many enter ihram at Rabigh, which lies alongside it on the same road. The driver can stop there.
