Riyadh to Jeddah Taxi Transfer

A taxi from Riyadh to Jeddah for the long road trip across the Kingdom, in a private car with a driver used to long distances, at a fixed per-car fare confirmed on WhatsApp.

Crossing the Kingdom from the capital to the Red Sea

Riyadh to Jeddah is one of the longest common road trips in Saudi Arabia, roughly 950 km and nine or more hours of driving. Why do people choose it over flying? Usually for practical reasons: a large family whose tickets add up, a lot of luggage during a house move, elderly relatives who prefer a car to airport procedures, or a wish to stop in Makkah for Umrah on the way. Because our fare is per car and not per passenger, the bigger your group, the more the road trip makes sense. At Mishwar Al Haramain we handle the trip with a driver who knows the road and knows where to stop.

What the journey looks like

StageWhat to expect
Leaving RiyadhPickup from your home or hotel, ideally avoiding the morning rush
The long desert stretchA highway across Najd with small towns and service stations spaced out
The Taif areaThe road nears Taif and then descends towards Makkah and Jeddah
Arriving in JeddahDrop-off at the address you gave, whether a district, a hotel or the airport

Stops are part of the plan

A trip this long usually needs three or four breaks for prayer, food and stretching your legs. Tell us in advance if you have children or elderly passengers so we can plan comfortable stops. The driver will not rush you, and short breaks are a normal part of the day.

If you intend Umrah on the way

Travellers from Riyadh heading for Umrah pass the miqat of Qarn al-Manazil (As-Sayl al-Kabir) or its equivalent point on the way. If you plan to perform Umrah before or right after reaching Jeddah, ask someone knowledgeable you trust where you should enter ihram, and tell us so we can plan the miqat stop and your time in Makkah. If you will go on from Jeddah to Makkah later, see our taxi from Jeddah to Makkah page.

Fare

This route is not in our published fare table, so we confirm a fixed fare on WhatsApp once we know your pickup, destination, vehicle type and any extra stop in Makkah or Taif. The fare is for the whole car, and you pay on arrival with no prepayment for normal bookings.

The right vehicle

  • Sedan: one or two people with standard bags.
  • Family SUV/Van: usually the best fit for this route, since it is long and you need room to rest and for luggage.
  • VIP: for the highest comfort on a full-day journey.

See the fleet page for the categories.

Tips before you set off

  • Leaving at dawn usually gets you to Jeddah before evening.
  • Bring water and snacks, as some gaps between stations are long.
  • Send your Jeddah address as a map pin. For getting around the city afterwards, see Jeddah taxi.

It depends on your group and luggage. Because the fare is per car, not per passenger, the road trip becomes more worthwhile for families and groups.

Does one driver cover the whole trip?

We plan the trip with regular breaks. If you have particular requirements about the journey time or travelling overnight, tell us when booking so we can arrange what suits you.

Can we stop in Makkah for Umrah and then continue to Jeddah?
