The Standard Sedan: Our Everyday All-Rounder
If you asked our dispatchers which car they send most often, the answer would be the standard sedan. It is a mid-size, air-conditioned saloon with a proper boot and a roomier rear seat than the economy car, and it is the class we suggest by default when a guest simply writes "I need a car from the airport" without further detail. It is equally at home on a ten-minute run to the Haram and a four-hour drive along the Hijrah highway.
Think of it as the sensible middle: more breathing space than the budget option, without stepping into the price of an SUV or a VIP vehicle.
A Typical Standard Sedan Journey, Step by Step
To show what the service actually looks like, here is how a common booking unfolds, from a flight landing in Jeddah to the hotel in Makkah.
Before you fly
You send us a WhatsApp message with your flight number, landing date, the number of passengers and suitcases, and your hotel name. We reply with a fixed fare for the whole car. Nothing is paid upfront for a normal booking.
When you land
We follow your flight, so an early or late arrival is not a problem. Once you clear passport control and collect your bags, you will find the driver in the arrivals hall holding a sign with your name. The first 60 minutes after touchdown are free waiting time, which usually covers immigration and baggage.
On the road
The drive from King Abdulaziz International Airport to Makkah is about 100 km and normally takes 60 to 75 minutes, depending on traffic and which part of the city your hotel is in. If you are in ihram, the driver knows the trip is part of your Umrah and will take you straight to your hotel so you can rest before heading to the Haram. More on this route is on our page about the Jeddah Airport to Makkah transfer.
At the hotel
The car takes you as close to the hotel entrance as traffic rules allow. You pay the agreed fare on arrival. That is the whole process.
Who Usually Books the Standard Sedan?
- Couples and small families of up to three adults, or two adults with a child, carrying ordinary suitcases.
- Visitors on longer intercity legs such as Makkah to Madinah or Jeddah to Madinah, who want a bit more rear-seat room than economy offers.
- Elderly parents who find it easier to get in and out of a sedan than to climb into a high SUV.
- Business visitors moving between Jeddah, its airport and the train station who need a clean, punctual car rather than a luxury one.
Luggage: What Fits and What Doesn't
A standard sedan's boot takes two large suitcases plus a couple of cabin bags comfortably; a third large case is sometimes possible depending on its size. Prayer mats, a small cooler and handbags ride in the cabin. If you are bringing a folding wheelchair, a stroller or several cartons of Zamzam water, tell us when booking: in many cases a family SUV is the safer choice, and we will say so rather than risk a car that is too small.
Reference Fares for the Sedan Tier
Our published price list sets three tiers: sedan, family SUV/van, and VIP. The table below shows the sedan starting fares for a few of the most-booked routes. Your exact standard sedan fare for your route is confirmed on WhatsApp before you commit.
| Route | Sedan tier from (SAR, per car) | Approx. distance |
|---|---|---|
| Jeddah Airport to Makkah | 200 | about 100 km |
| Makkah to Jeddah Airport | 190 | about 100 km |
| Jeddah to Madinah | 500 | about 420 km |
| Madinah to Makkah | 400 | about 450 km |
| Jeddah Airport to Taif | 300 | via Makkah and Al Hada |
| Jeddah to Jeddah train station | 100 | within the city |
Every route and tier is listed in the fare guide.
Tips From the Dispatch Desk
- For long drives such as Makkah to Madinah, tell the driver if you want a stop for prayer or food. Planning it at the start keeps the journey relaxed.
- Booking a round trip? Send both legs in one message, including the return date, so the same class is reserved for both directions.
- Arriving at Madinah instead of Jeddah? The process is identical; see our Madinah taxi page for local details.
- If plans change, message us as early as you can. Changing a time is far easier the day before than ten minutes before pickup.
Standard Sedan FAQ
How is the standard sedan different from economy?
It is a larger car with more legroom in the back and a bigger boot. Economy is the cheapest way to move one or two people with light bags; the standard sedan is the better choice once there are three adults or a long drive ahead.
Do you charge more at night?
The fare you agree on WhatsApp is the fare you pay, whatever time the trip runs. We operate 24/7.
Is the fare per passenger?
No, it covers the whole car.
Can I pay by card?
Payment is made on arrival. Ask us on WhatsApp which payment methods are available for your trip.
